Last night was the dreaded 2-mile time trial in Week 2 of the Spring Marathon program to gauge our current fitness. I already knew where I was going into it, and I really didn't need a number to quantify it. But, I am coming to peace with it (not THAT at peace though yet because I'm not posting my time). Let's just say that mile 1 was slow and mile 2 was SLOWER. I walked during mile 2. Yes, I walked. Thank goodness it was dark on the track and there were lots of people there, so maybe I didn't look quite as conspicuous.
After the workout, K and I went over to Zax for dinner, just like the P*Dipps used to do. It was nice. We split a yummy jerk salmon caesar salad and pizza - delicious!
Our entertainment during dinner was listening to a new hotshot on the Austin racing scene spouting his mouth off about all his successes. No humility whatsoever. It was disgusting. I told K that his new goal is now to beat this guy. Smackdown! :)

the beauty of running in the dark...
Don't forget yesterday was muggy;-)
can't wait to hear about the smack down, go K!
I agree about the smack down. Go K!
At least you did the time trail. I haven't done one and I don't plan on doing one until I am forced too. Which will be when I am actually able to train to for something.
You ran it though, which in my book makes you a bad ass. It's one thing to go out beat everyone. It's another to have the courage to admit that you aren't perfect.
