Big K's recap of our first few days in Athens...

Well, we made it to Greece after a long couple of flights with no major problems. We are 8 hours ahead of Central time. It's now Tuesday evening here. Athens is pretty hot and dry, and rather crowded. Much like other European cities I would imagine. Mel said it reminded her of Rome. After getting no sleep Sunday and adjusting to the time change Monday, we got up and did some sightseeing this morning. We saw the Parliament with guards in funny outfits (yes, even funnier than the British), the National Gardens, the Panathenaic Stadium (an important pilgrimage for marathoners -- too bad we don't have time to go to Marathon itself), and of course, all around the Acropolis. I really liked the ruins around the Acropolis, and we got to enjoy some of it before we met up with all the crowds. By about noon, we were tired and hot, so we had lunch and came back to the hotel for a nice long siesta. Tomorrow it's off on the ferry to Mykonos and the beach.

Thanks again for coming out to the wedding and for all your help. If you have any wedding weekend pictures to send, please do.

Take care,
Kurt and Melissa
