We're definitely in the home stretch now. Today went better than I hoped.
Despite getting very minimal sleep due to having to deal with the repercussions of K's shenanigans last night (or technically early this morning), I got up this morning as planned and did a solo 17-mile run on the Greenbelt. Despite a fall around mile 10 (which thankfully only led to swollen knees), I had a fantastic run. I really tried to focus on running a comfortable pace, and I never felt like I was working too hard or that I wouldn't make it through the distance. I managed my hydration and nutrition needs well for a change, so I am happy about that as well. And, I'm just super proud of myself for getting that kind of mileage in the day before my wedding. After my fall, I am re-evaluating whether I am going to run the scheduled 10 miles tomorrow. I don't want to take any chances at this point. I may just run the 10 miles on TLT if I decide to run, but I will also give myself permission not to run if I'm just not feeling it tomorrow.
I managed to get in a short nap while K was out running some last minute errands this afternoon. Then, we were off to the rehearsal in the afternoon. It was hot (and I don't do well with hot), but our officiant made it fun and got us through it all relatively quickly. I had been dreading the rehearsal dinner, but I managed to survive it and even had a decent time (likely thanks to the 2 margaritas which I wasn't even planning to have!). Our toast to the wedding party and our families was more emotional than I expected, but I'm glad that we had the opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate their love and support.
Now, it's time for a well-deserved and much needed sleep.
